Jacksonville A/G Church

Core values:

Intimacy
Authenticity
Excellence
Relevance

Mission Statement:

We are a people who seek intimacy with God.

Our mission is to connect our community and world with Jesus.
We desire to be excellent in all we do, authentic in relationships, and
relevant to each generation and culture.

Worship (Developing Intimacy with God)

We will establish this body as being distinctly Pentecostal creating an atmosphere that is free from distraction and conducive to worship.  This will be done by promoting, and giving liberty to Spirit-led, Spirit-filled and fully free worship.

We will establish ourselves as a people devoted to God.  Our goal is to raise up people who experience intimacy with God—to know Him, hear His voice, and become a people who have a depth of relationship with God that moves beyond the casual and into the intimate. (Phil 3:10)

We will establish ourselves as people of prayer (intercession).  The scripture teaches that certain things can only be accomplished by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29).  We will establish prayer as a priority by:

·        Creating a 24/7 fasting & prayer rotation for our church (the prayer baton)

·        Developing a team of intercessors to pray over the services

·        Participating in prayer walks

·        Praying through the phonebook, etc.

Through the work of intercession we expect to create an atmosphere in our church and community where the Holy Spirit can move freely and powerfully, the miraculous occurs, and demonic strongholds are eliminated.

Outreach (Intentionally bringing people into the kingdom)

We recognize that evangelism is an assignment to the body of Christ and therefore commit ourselves to reaching the lost and making new converts through Relational Evangelism, Event-Oriented Evangelism, and Servant Evangelism (Works).

Relational Evangelism occurs by thinking smaller.  We encourage our people to think smaller so that we may grow bigger.  Relational evangelism occurs outside the halls of the church.  It is the effort of God’s people to reach a world in darkness.  It is marked by personal evangelistic effort (witnessing in the privacy of the home, sharing in the neighborhood, prayer walks, small groups, new move-in follow-up, etc.).  Just as Andrew brought Peter, this method is one to one, or small group driven.  It is designed to bring one or a few at a time to Christ.  Successful relational evangelism will reveal itself in new convert growth evidenced by water baptism and spirit baptism follow through.  We will set a standard of each one reaching at least one a year through personal evangelism.

Event Oriented Evangelism occurs by thinking large scale.  These are planned events whose express purpose is to draw large numbers at once into the body of Christ.  Event evangelism will include:

·        Festivals

·        Dramas

·        Concerts, etc.

Servant Evangelism will involve efforts locally and around the world.  We will participate in Missions Trips both globally and within our own region.  Part of our efforts will include assisting existing community services with our various giftings.  Servant evangelism also includes reaching others through existing and future ministries in the church.

Relationships – Develop Depth of intimacy with one another

It is our goal to build trust among each other and raise up a New Testament style church that has the best interest of our brothers and sisters at heart.

Relationships will emerge and be strengthened through holistic small groups.  In order to establish our goal of developing intimacy with one another participation in small groups is necessary.

Intimacy can further be developed through activities (relationship building occurs in work as well as play), through work (completing special projects and improvements), and through corporate activities.  We will make every effort to know and be known.  Our goal is to insure that our people have five (5) close relationships within this church body.

Discipleship – Teaching how to live while equipping for ministry (Education Program)

Our goal is that every believer becomes a success story in living for Christ.  We will teach the doctrines of scripture and the great disciplines (daily disciplines) of the faith.  We will equip believers to live and stand for Christ without failure or compromise through mentoring, example and the Word.
